I just need the simple, step-by-step, idiot-proof definition of what happens during a lunar eclipse and what happens during a solar eclipse. In addition, how many times a year do we have solar and lunar eclipses? Thanks a million!

Answer by evirustheslayesolar eclipse is when the moon is in between the earth and the sun, causing a shadow on the surface of earth, a lunar eclipse is when the earth is in between the sun and the moon preventing any light from hitting the moon.
