How do I know what time the Lunar Eclipse will take place?

Question by Rain Dancer: How do I know what time the Lunar Eclipse will take place?
Tonight is the lunar eclipse and I would like to see it, but I cant find anything that will give me a time to shoot for. Thanks to anyone who can help!

Best answer:
Answer by Dr BobThere will be nothing to see. It's such a minor penumbral eclipse that the moon will simply look like an ordinary full moon.

Here are the times:
7:04:17 PM EDT eclipse begins
8:39:10 PM EDT maximum eclipse
10:14:09 PM EDT eclipse ends

The moon will be up for much of the eclipse on the east coast of the US; on the west coast, however, the moon will be below the horizon during the eclipse.

If you had precise measuring equipment, you might be able to detect a slight gradation of brightness, but you won't see anything with your naked eye.

Here's the NASA information for this eclipse:

Q&A: Is something going on astrologically lately that is causing extreme anger and frustration among people?

Question by :*: Is something going on astrologically lately that is causing extreme anger and frustration among people?
maybe something with the moon, idk.
i need answers, like no joke
does anyone notice such change in people's behavior? or is it just me?
everyone's on edge, stressing, blowing things out of proportion, ready to erupt, or losing it in general.
yeah something's been going on for the past 3 days or so till today and it just continues to escalate
i don't quite understand all that astrological information, though it does answer the question. if anyone could break it down and perhaps put it into simpler terms that'd be great.

Beautiful orrery(solar system model) avaiable in : www.orrerystore.com .NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory caught the Moon slipping in front of the face of the Sun on March 4, 2011. This view is in the far ultraviolet and shows lots of solar activity like sunspots (which are bright in the UV) and prominences. The Moon appears to change direction because SDO is orbiting the Earth. This is difficult to explain using just words, so I have created a diagram on my blog. It's the same effect that makes planets seem to reverse direction over several days (called "retrograde motion") or race cars seem to move left-to-right on the near side of the racetrack and right-to-left on the far side.Credit: NASAMovie created using Helioviewer: helioviewer.org

What happens with the moon on the other side of the Earth where a solar eclipse is not occurring?

Question by CL2710: What happens with the moon on the other side of the Earth where a solar eclipse is not occurring?
I want to know what happens with the moon during a solar eclipse, BUT on the side of the Earth where the eclipse is not occurring, for example if a solar eclipse is visible on North America, what happens in China, Europe, etc. with the moon, is there no moon, or what?
Thank you!

Best answer:
Answer by Geoff GThe Moon is in orbit around the Earth. During a solar eclipse it is between the Earth and the Sun. So there is no Sun or Moon on the other side of the Earth. There's nothing unusual about this -- it happens many times during the month.
