But please do be aware that it might be cloudy that day.

I'm trying to find a chart of lunar and solar eclipse dates. Can anyone help?

by Smithsonian Institution
Question by SiriusFan13: I'm trying to find a chart of lunar and solar eclipse dates. Can anyone help?
I'm writing a novel, and my main character is contemplating eclipses. The story is set in 1863 Kyoto, Japan. I was wondering if anyone has any idea where a chart may be that gives solar and lunar eclipse dates in this region for the 1800s. I know it's a weird, specific question, but I want to know if my character has possibly seen either of these events, or if he needs to be speaking from someone else's description of the event. Thanks!

Scroll down the page and it shows eclipses that have already taken place. Sorted by years.

A Death in Summer book(Top new release thriller book) releasing on May 2012About the Book: A Death in SummerThe new Quirke Dublin mystery from John Banville writing as Benjamin BlackWhen newspaper magnate Richard Jewell is found dead at his country estate, clutching a shotgun in his lifeless hands, few see his demise as cause for sorrow. But before long Doctor Quirke and Inspector Hackett realise that, rather than the suspected suicide, 'Diamond Dick' has in fact been murdered. Suspicion soon falls on one of Jewell's biggest rivals. But as Quirke and his assistant Sinclair get to know Jewell's beautiful, enigmatic wife Francoise d'Aubigny and his fragile sister Dannie, as well as those who work for the family, it gradually becomes clear that all is not as it seems...Against the backdrop of 1950's Dublin, Benjamin Black conjures another atmospheric, beguiling mystery.About Benjamin Black Benjamin Black is the pen name of acclaimed author John Banville, who was born in Wexford, Ireland, in 1945. His novels have won numerous awards, most recently the Man Booker Prize in 2005 for The Sea. A Death in the Summer, his latest featuring the pathologist-turned-crime solver Quirke, is somewhat less magical. The prose sparkles as always -- both Black and his true identity, the more respectable John Banville, very rarely have a word out of place. But this time out, the lyrical sleight of hand can't mask the lazily turning plot mechanics in which the murder that's ostensibly driving the story -- the suspicious shotgun suicide of a Dublin newspaper tycoon --comes off as strangely incidental. It's still a good show, but there appears to be much more misdirection than real direction. Create a Total Sun Management Solution With Motorized Awning Windows

Create a Total Sun Management Solution With Motorized Awning Windows

Adding a great awning to your porch is not the only issue you need to be concerned with when it comes to creating a sun management solution. There are a number of reasons why you would want to control the amount of sun that enters your home. For starters energy conservation is a big concern these days. With the rising cost of energy homeowners are finding that keeping indoor temperatures in check with alternative methods is now more important than ever.A great solution for creating some shade from the midday sun without having to add coverings to every window on your home is to install automated retractable window awnings. These great little mechanical canopies allow you to individually control the amount of light that enters each and every window of your home. Think of them like mechanical window treatments that can be open and closed at the press of a button. Essentially they offer all the convenience of shutters without any of a hassle. Think about how great it would be to be able to close the windows that are getting direct sunlight and keep the ones that are getting indirect sunlight open. What's even more amazing about some of the motorized awnings on the market is the fact that they can be programmed to open and close automatically at certain times of day. This means that you can have your windows protected from the midday sun automatically each and every day without having to think about it.Motorized awning windows truly are a great innovation. They add an extra degree of energy efficiency to your home at a very reasonable cost. This makes them a fantastic addition to your home if you plan on selling in the near future. Home buyers absolutely love this type of value added detail.Unfortunately there are not a lot of options to choose from as automatic window awnings are a fairly niche market. Sunsetter is one of the larger names in the industry however there are definitely more to choose from. If you find yourself not entirely sure what direction to take when choosing your window awnings you may want to consider speaking with an interior decorator who can probably help guide you in the right direction. Many of them have experience dealing with this new technology and would be more than willing to help for a reasonable fee.
