Why are solar eclipses rare in the contiguous United States?


Question by whitesox09: Why are solar eclipses rare in the contiguous United States?
It seems they occur often in many places but not the United States.

Answer by natbeastYou can see partial solar eclipses here sometimes, but they are seen in full near the equator. The US lies a bit too far off the equator for a "real" solar eclipse.
