Question by shabbee: Why lunar eclipse is observed only when moon is full. Longest period between two solar eclipse is how much?
It is my observation that solar eclipse has no specific pattern but lunar one is only sighted at full-moon night.

Answer by SteveI'm not 100% sure but i would guess it has something to do with earth moon sun alignment. it must need to be aligned just so for an eclipse to happen and the side effect is a full moon.
