Answer by david_bowman_scNo. Though the moon will be up for you before 9pm, the sky will be too bright with the twilight to notice any change in the Moon's brightness. It will be extremely difficult to see, even in a dark sky since this is not an umbral but a penumbral eclipse. The Moon misses the dark part of the Earth's shadow and only hits the fringe part of the shadow.
From Sky and Telescope's web site:
# Wednesday, August 5
# Full Moon (exact at 8:55 p.m. EDT), with Jupiter near it. The Moon undergoes a very slight penumbral eclipse, probably too slight for any shading to be detectable at all by eye. If you want to try, South America, Europe, or Africa are the places to be; the midtime is 0:39 August 6th UT.

In 2006 we sent a crew to Side Turkey to share the total solar eclipse live with the world over the Internet. While we wont be traveling to webcast the eclipse in 2009, we plan to cover the total solar eclipse in July 2010. For this year, were providing links to other eclipse Web sites, and well direct you to live Webcasts or broadcasts of the eclipse at www.exploratorium.edu
