Question by : What should you do if an earthquake and a tornado happened in the same place at the same time?
Via the best thing, I mean. This has never happened before in history but what should you do if a tornado were to hit and an earthquake both in the same location simulataneously and you were upstairs full of windows to stay safe from the earthquake but puts you in danger of the tornado storm that is also going on or if you're down basement, you're safe from the tornado but also put yourself in danger of the earthquake. Please help! I don't want to have one of my internet friends killed because of this and I'd do everything that's right to protect my friends.

Answer by patil.chiragWell first, you should never be upstairs in a house when a tornado watch/warning is given out. Also, an earthquake would destroy the basement, so you need to get under a sturdy table in the center on the ground floor. The house collapsing in the earthquake would simulate a tornado passing by, and if a tornado went by, debris would be sucked up and blown away from you.
The next thing is that earthquake zones are pretty far away from tornadoes, and buildings in earthquake zones are often built strong to withstand very large earthquakes. Being strong, they would also last through a tornado, so you would be really safe.
