Question by Michel Verheughe: The time of solar eclipses?
Since the declination of the earth on the solar orbit is roughly +/- 23.5 degrees and the moon's declination on its orbit is roughly +/- 5 degrees, one would think that solar eclipses happen around the equinoxes, right? But when I look at this site:
http://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/eclipse.html
It looks like they are more around the solstices than the equinoxes. I must have my geometry wrong but I don't know why. Do you? Thanks in advance.

Answer by WhizzzieI understand your question, but I need a diagram to figure it out. Can you scan your fig and post a link to it here?
