This has been a build up for the past two weeks and I look forward to its dispensation over these next two weeks until the lunar eclipse in aquarius conjuncts my natal mars in my 3rd house.

What was the first sci-fi story to feature food? I really had no idea. I thought this would be easily answered and a nice neat list would emerge. Before I could answer that question I had to answer another: what is the first science fiction story? There is no consensus on this that I can find. People don't even agree on what science fiction is. Which lead, annoyingly, to another question; what is science fiction?Asimov is quoted as saying "true science fiction could not really exist until people understood the rationalism of science and began to use it with respect in their stories". If I accept this (I do not) there is no sci-fi until the 1650's or as late as the 1800's. But I also recognize the science of the natural world and empirical investigation, that of classical antiquity. So in my search for the first sci-fi with food references this gives me a starting point thousands of years in the past and a broad definition of sci-fi.Daedalus and Icarus (ca 1325 BCE)The myth of Daedalus and Icarus may qualify as the first recorded sci-fi because of these elements: description of the invention of wings held together by wax (technology), the alteration of the natural order by allowing men to fly, and the warning theme of man's all too limited science proving to be his undoing. But where's the food? The honeycombs from which came the bee's wax? They got the feathers from one kind of bird or another; did King Minos ever wonder why Daedalus and Icarus ate so much fowl?There are a few oblique references as father and son take flight Daedalus looks back at the island of Crete and sees a fisherman catching fish, a shepherd with his flock and a ploughman in the field. Then, before poor Icarus plummets into the Aegean, they fly by the island of Calymne which is "rich in honey".True History (ca 150 CE)Many have called True History (by Lucian of Samosata) the first sci-fi story. Regardless of your personal view on this, there are food references in True History as the protagonists travel on a sea of milk, cross a river of wine and find an island of cheese. They catch and eat the wine-fish which makes them drunk.They enter a vineyard made up of women who are half grapevine (women above the waist and below rooted to the earth) who's grapes the men try to pluck to the displeasure of the grapevine women. The protagonists later take sides in the war between the inhabitants of the Sun and the Moon. NASA has recently admitted that most of the moonrocks brought to Earth from 2 Apollo space missions are missing.Richard Nixon, who was then the US president, ordered the rock to be broken up into small fragments and sent to 135 foreign leaders and 50 local states. The 370 pieces of lunar rock from the 1969 and 1972 missions were collected to be given as gifts to different countries.Every goodwill moon rock was encased in lucite ball and placed on a wooden plaque with the receiving country's flag.A hundred of those were distributed to the 50 states of the US while 270 were given to various countries as a goodwill gift. To date, 184 of the goodwill rocks are unaccounted for (lost or stolen) -- 24 in the US and 160 worldwide. Some of the goodwill rocks have gone missing during times of political transition or revolution.Gaddafi's administration received 2 goodwill and they are both missing. The same is true with Romania's Apollo 17 moon rock. According to the US National Archives, a goodwill moon rock was also given to the late dictator of Rome, Nicolae Ceausescu, though it is believed that after his execution the rock was sold.And then there is the interesting story of how Ireland's goodwill moon rock ended up in a municipal dump. The rock was formerly housed in the Dunsink Observatory in Dublin until the place burned down in 1977. Nobody seemed to have noted that the moon rock was missing til after the event. Apparently, the rock was thrown in along with other debris and dumped in the Finglas landfill which is just across the road. A warning for treasure hunters: some rock worth more than USD 5 million is still lying under tons of trash in the dump. as he came to be known, Joseph Gutheinz Jr is a lawyer in Texas and previously an agent of NASA. It all started in 1998 when Gutheinz was still in NASA. He set up the Operation Lunar Eclipse, an undercover sting operation to recover the missing. He advertised on USA Today, entitled 'Moon Rocks Wanted' in order to lure con-artists to contact him. What he did not expect was that someone in the possession of the goodwill moon rock of Honduras would contact him. The lunar rock, weighing 1.142 g, was offered to him for USD 5 million.According to Gutheinz, he once offered a USD 10,000 for Malta's goodwill moon rock but he still has not heard anything about it.An unnamed private collector reportedly purchased a 0.2 gram of moon dust for USD 442,500. Answer by Geoff GThe next major eclipse in North America is in 2017. Here the path is only 115 km wide starting in northern Oregon and sweeping diagonally across the US to South Carolina. The map below allows you to click on it and get the local circumstances for your location. The 2024 eclipse crosses the continent on the other diagonal from central Mexico to Newfoundland with a path width of 198 km.

Answer by Geoff GSolar eclipses can occur anywhere on Earth, but each eclipse is only total along a thin strip across the face of the Earth, where the Moon's shadow touches down. There are usually a couple of solar eclipses every year, at different times of year depending on the positions of the Sun, Earth, and Moon, but are rarely seen because each one is only visible it its narrow (but long) path. The next total solar eclipse is on August 1 this year. It's path of totality begins at dawn high in the Canadian arctic, crosses the arctic to nothern Siberia, passing over the city of Novosibersk. It then crosses into Mongolia into eastern China, where it ends at sunset. There are maps of future and past eclipse paths on the source site.

Oh and if you know anything about what people used to believe in when they didn't know what happened and are there any drawings ( like in caves ) that are showing them being scared or something ?

we need the time, date, and location...even the town. and the eclipse has to be visible in north america.

Answer by EmberThe solar eclipse that takes place on Monday, 21 August 2017 will be a total eclipse of the Sun with a magnitude of 1.031 - that will be visible from a narrow corridor through the United States. A partial solar eclipse will be seen from the much broader path of the Moon's penumbra, including all of North America, northern South America, western Europe, and Africa. This eclipse will be the first total solar eclipse visible from the United States since 1991 (just from part of Hawaii)[1], the first visible from the contiguous United States since 1979,[2] and the first with a path of totality crossing the USA's Pacific coast and Atlantic coast since 1918. This eclipse is a member of Saros cycle 145, the one that also produced the solar eclipse of August 11, 1999.
The longest duration of totality will be 2 minutes 40 seconds in Christian County, Kentucky just northwest of Hopkinsville, Kentucky. The path of this eclipse crosses the upcoming path of the total eclipse of 8 April 2024, with the intersection of the two paths being in southern Illinois in Makanda just south of Carbondale. A small land area, including the cities of Carbondale, Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and Paducah, Kentucky, will thus experience two total solar eclipses within a span of less than seven years.
The United States, in the 45 years before this (2017) eclipse will have experienced a rather long total eclipse dry spell. May 20th and June 4th, 2012. It's that time of the year again! Eclipses occur twice a year and usually come in pairs. Our upcoming eclipses, consisting of an annular solar eclipse in Gemini and a partial lunar eclipse in Sagittarius, will be rather mild compared to previous ecliptic events. Eclipses bring changes. Even though our eclipses may be mild, there will be other stellar events, including Venus' retrograde and an outer planet square, that could amplify these changes. Because these eclipses will be occurring during Venus' retrograde, relationships and finances may suffer.Many believe that eclipse energy is 10 times more powerful than a normal full or new moon. Some practitioners of magic set aside eclipse time to cleanse their tools and cast their spells. Full moon lunar eclipses are a very good time for banishing and cleansing away negative energy. New moon solar eclipses can help in manifesting desires. It's an excellent time to ask the universe for what you need.Our eclipse on May 20th will be a New Moon solar eclipse in Gemini, on the cusp between Taurus and Gemini. With Venus turning retrograde in their sign only 5 days earlier, those with dominate Gemini in their charts will probably feel the brunt of this eclipse. We may be tempted to stray from our commitments. For some of us, this will turn out to be a personal test of our willpower (brains versus hormones). Here's a summary:
1) The next total lunar eclipse in CO will be this summer. You'll be able to see it in the wee hours of the morning of Tuesday, August 28th.
2) The next solar eclipse of any kind is May 20, 2012. This is an annular eclipse, of the kind where the moon moves completely in front of the sun, but the sun's face is bigger than the lunar disc so it does not grow completely dark. The southwest corner of the state will be in the central path of annularity. Denver and the rest of CO will see a deep partial eclipse of the sun.
3) The next total eclipse of the sun visible anywhere in the United States will be August 21, 2017. Colorado will see only another deep partial eclipse from this one, but if you drive to Wyoming or Nebraska, you'll be able to see a total eclipse of the sun from, for example, Casper or Scotts Bluff.
By the way, there was nothing you could have done to see yesterday's eclipse of the moon. Unless you live in the extreme eastern strip of the state, the eclipse ended before the moon rose in Colorado. Even in the far east, you could have seen at most a tiny bite taken out of the lunar disc during the last few minutes of the partial phase. The total eclipse was invisible everywhere west of the Mississippi.

Answer by bikenbeer2000There is a cycle known as the Saros, which is the recurrence of similar eclipses after a period of 18 years and 10 or 11 days. If an eclipse occurs, it's possible to say. with a fair degree of certainty, that another will take place after this period, although the area of visibility moves westwards, so successive eclipses are not generally visible from the same location. The eclipse which Thales predicted is thought to be that of 28th May 585 BCE. The eclipse preceding that date by one Saros period was the eclipse of 18th May 603 BCE. Both these eclipses were visible from Thales' location in the eastern Mediterranean.

Any time there are energy waves, it does affect the brain, the human brain has always been affected by such things.Now then, it may be possible that the human brain becomes more aware, nervous, agitated, or even more apt to be angry when there are solar flares. If the brain is running at a higher frequency due to the background radiation of the solar flare, and we know that during solar maximums there are a greater number of solar flares - then we can expect more crime, more wars, and also more innovation during these times. Now then, let's discuss the theory.And let's go ahead and call this the "Solar Maximum Innovation Correlation" theory - which would go something like this; Innovation occurs at a much faster pace during solar maximum cycles. Now then, if you are a baby boomer and now you are entering the retirement and relaxation period of your life. Then you may find that the generation below you is about ready to blow you away with new innovations, ideas, inventions, and concepts.Things that are so intriguing and so foreign to you, that it will make you feel old. Things which will revolutionize medicine, transportation, energy, space travel, materials, communication, and even the way we run our government and society. I'm trying to make an intro to a video, and I have a picture of an eclipse. Is it possible to make the eclipse sun INSIDE the picture of the eclipse look like it rotates a bit? I have Sony Vegas, Adobe After Effects, and Adobe Photoshop.

Answer by deonejuanThat's animation, what you describe. One would model a sphere and texture it with the light and/or photo. The pros charge like $ 100 per second of rendered computer file -- and believe me, they earn it.
You might look at Xara3D software. Evaluate if it renders out to .targa, .gif file format, quicktime... I know those formats import into Adobe Premiere (is After Effects a latest and greatest Premiere? I've never used it).
But, spinning logos, incredible camera angles.... that sort of stuff is CGI, aka computer animation.
