Solar Energy - A Source of Renewable Energy

Solar Energy - A Source of Renewable Energy

No matter if you believe in global warming or not, everyone is looking for new sources of energy. One way is the sun. It's free, does not contaminate the land, water or air and we have an limitless supply of it. Solar power is a resource that anyone everywhere in the world can use. Sure there are areas of this planet that receive more sun than others but every part of the earth receives sunlight. Even on a cloudy day there is sunlight.Think about what it would do for our energy requirements if we could get 10% of our energy from the sun. We could reduce the amount of coal fired electrical generation by the same 10%. And think what solar power can do for those third world nations that don't have any defined system for generating electricity today. They could begin to generate electricity from solar power today without the incredible expense of building large electric generating plants. So the question is, if solar energy is a free resource that can be used by anyone, why haven't we already made large scale use of it? The answer is complex but in simple terms, the generation of electricity through traditional means has been too cheap. This is all going to change as we move further into the 21st century. Concerns about global warming will create new laws on traditional means of generating electricity. At some point in time the cost of generating electricity from traditional means will eclipse the cost of generating it from solar power. When this time comes, solar power will become much more wide spread. What if you want to get ahead of the curve by using solar power today? You can buy commercial solar panels though they are very expensive. Or, you can build the solar panels today. The technology is simple enough and you can use easily obtainable materials to build them.Either way, you can have solar panels today. Installing them will help you cut your electrical bill and will save you money in the long haul. While you are saving money you will be helping out the planet. For every unit of energy you receive from solar panels you cut the amount of energy that is produced using traditional methods. If you decide to do it yourself you can go online and Google a phrase such as "how to build solar panel" and you will find information that will give you easy to follow instructions. You can also find chat groups online who are dedicated to solar power. These groups are an amazing resource for any questions that you might have as you create your own clean energy solution. I hope that you will look into the idea of adding solar panels to your business or home. It's time each of us stepped up to the plate and did our part in creating renewal energy.
