Answer by RickBIf you're talking about the one on May 20, it's not visible as a TOTAL eclipse anywhere. But you'll still get a nice (not total) view of it from Utah.

Some people will see it as an "annular" eclipse, which is a little like a total eclipse except the moon is too small to completely cover up the sun's disk. (The disks of the moon and sun both change their sizes over time; sometimes the moon is a little smaller than the sun, sometimes it's larger.) The sky doesn't darken during an annular eclipse, as it does for a total eclipse.

You'll have to be in the right spot–the "path of annularity"–if you want to see the moon right in the center of the sun's disk, with the sun making a 360° circle of light around it. The southwestern half of Utah IS in that path; but the northeastern half is not. So if you're in the southwestern half of Utah, you'll see "annularity"–the moon's disk completely surrounded by the sun's disk–at least for a few minutes. If you're in the northeastern half, you'll still see the moon covering 90+ percent of the sun, but it won't ever get completely "inside".

If you're not sure, check out this interactive eclipse map: http://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/SEgoogle/SEgoogle2001/SE2012May20Agoogle.html
Zoom in on your location. If you're inside the "blue band", you'll see the annularity; otherwise you'll just see an awesome partial eclipse.
