Q&A: What exactly are Shadow Bands during a Total Solar Eclipse ?

Question by : What exactly are Shadow Bands during a Total Solar Eclipse ?
I was reading a book titled "Total Solar Eclipses and How to Observe them" and suddenly I came across a concept called Shadow Bands. The author did mention about how they are formed, but I couldn't comprehend it exactly. Can anyone explain to me what exactly they are ? And has anyone seen them during a TSE ?
