Question by Matty-boi: Why does the moon change color, then disappear, and then go back to normal color without an eclipse?
On 8/15/10, I was watching the moon with my family and we noticed it was orange. It was originally a crescent moon, but it changed to a new moon, then back to a crescent. But, why did it do this when there really is no solar or lunar eclipse scheduled or the fact that it was a waxing crescent going to a new moon back to a waxing crescent?

have the recent natural disasters got anything to do with the mayans prediction of 2012?
Question by georgia: have the recent natural disasters got anything to do with the mayans prediction of 2012?
the mayans and some other doomsday prophecies said that the world would end with lots of natural disasters, i mean recently there have been loads of earthquakes, floods and now a volcano has erupted! i do believe the mayans they predicted ww1,ww2,every lunar and solar eclipse to this day, 9/11, the planet getting hotter (climate change) and more. should we consider this the mayans prediction coming true?
Best answer:
Answer by Category 5Theres no science behind the so called 2012 nonsense. The earth has seen MUCH more turbulent times in the past.

Q&A: What time will the Solar Eclipse happen today?
Question by Super: What time will the Solar Eclipse happen today?
Okay, so there is going to be an Annular eclipse today, which it is an eclipse of the sun, in which the edge of the sun remains visible as a bright ring around the moon. Anyway, all I am asking is: what time will the eclipse happen?
Best answer:
Answer by Box Of WineWe know what an annular eclipse is, but thanks for the explanation. The eclipse will be going on at sunset. The farther east you are, the less you will see. Everyone on the east coast will miss it entirely.
