What is the difference between Solar,Lunar and Partial Eclipses?

Question by Leah!: What is the difference between Solar,Lunar and Partial Eclipses?
What happens when each one occurs? Thank you!

Best answer:
Answer by the_lipsiotA solar eclipse is when the sun is eclipsed by the moon or, in other words the moon's shadow passes across the Earth, or when the moon passes in a direct line between the sun and Earth. This can either be a total eclipse (when the whole of the sun is covered by the moon) or a partial eclipse (when just a part of the sun is covered).

A lunar eclipse is when the Earth eclipses the moon or, in other words, the Earth's shadow passes across the moon, or the Earth passes in a direct line between the sun and moon.
