Answer by tham153there are no further eclipses this year. You should check any of the dozen or so websites that list such things, including NASA.gov, skyandtelecope.com, etc

What do you think? Answer below!

Unless you're a penguin, you probably didn't see the solar eclipse that occurred last week over Antarctica, Tasmania, southern South Africa, and most of New Zealand. Fortunately, XRT was on the job to capture this spectacular footage of the event. And as a bonus resulting from Hinode's orbital mechanics, three eclipses are observed for every one seen from the ground! This was the last solar eclipse of 2011; the next one won't occur for another six months on May 20th, 2012. Visit us at xrt.cfa.harvard.edu and view the original video at xrt.cfa.harvard.edu For more info on this particular event, visit: apod.nasa.gov and for eclipses in general: eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov And for Phil Plait's excellent explanation of the "triple eclipse" effect and the arc of the moon, visit: blogs.discovermagazine.com Questions and comments welcome at xrtpow "at" gmail "dot" com Hinode is a Japanese mission developed and launched by ISAS/JAXA, with NAOJ as domestic partner and NASA and STFC (UK) as international partners. It is operated by these agencies in co-operation with ESA and the NSC (Norway).
